The picture shows some hilsa fish soup. Hilsa fish is a very famous food in the history of Bangladesh. It is very fun to eat. The national fish of Bangladesh. It is a marine fish that comes to the rivers of Bangladesh and eastern India to lay its eggs. Hilsa is very popular among Bengalis. Hilsa is also a very popular fish in various parts of India such as West Bengal, Orissa, Tripura and Assam. Hilsa is an economically important tropical fish. In the deltaic region of the Bay of Bengal, a large quantity of hilsa is caught every year from the haors of the estuaries of the Padma-Meghna-Jamunandi. It is a marine fish but it lays its eggs in big rivers. When the eggs hatch and the baby grows up, the jatka hilsa fish, which is called in Bengali, goes to the sea. Fishermen catch this fish on their way back to the sea. This fish has many small cuts so it has to be eaten very carefully. So hilsa is one of my favorite foods.
