Language martyrs were honored on February 27 every year with the initiative of various institutions including schools, colleges, universities. Particularly in urban areas, participation of all levels, including women and men, is observed. However, the participation of rural women is not noticeable. Despite the desire, rural women do not go to Shaheed Minar due to social and family constraints. Contrary to the prevailing incident, a different incident was observed in Bayra village of Singaira upazila. People of Bayara village cut their own bananas and made paper wrappers and paid tribute to the language martyrs. A total of 3 women from the village of Bayra along with their young children paid tribute to the martyrs of the language at the shrine altar they had made on the morning of February 26.
