Vadu Festival is the month of Vadra. On the day of Vadramas, Vadu is worshiped. In the case of vrat, the feminine vow begins at the beginning of the Vadra month. Vadu festivals are mainly held in West Bengal, Burdwan, Bankura, Purulia, Birbhum, West Midnapore districts and two districts of Lagua, Bihar, Jharkhand.
During the monsoon there is a tradition of indigenous, Santal people to celebrate Karam song and festival. That is especially the case in Vadra. Ashutosh Bhattacharya captures the voodoo song as a Hindu version of this Karam song of the rainy festival. He called voodoo songs the origin of the Aryan society, influencing the paganism of Hinduism.
I have visited several places several times near the ‘Burdwan History and Archeology Center’ in Bardhaman district, with the opportunity to study ‘Vadhu songs of Radha Bengal’. I tried to find the source of the voodoo song.
